Roses My Love

Every girl likes to receive flowers and roses are a popular choice at Valentines Day. My husband is very good at choosing gifts that showed he understood the way to my heart. During one period of our marriage, Bud would send flowers to my office every week. This caused a huge problem with the girls in my office. They all went home expecting their husbands and boyfriends to send them flowers on a regular basis also. Bud was very thoughtful and sent beautiful bouquets for no special reason....just because. It's a wonderful memory.

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving but would have been extra special to have my entire family around the table. How grateful I am for my blessings. Sure hope your day was as wonderful as mine. Of course eating too much seems to be a tradition for most people.

This week's digi is three singing penguins. We're still warm here in Eastern Tennessee. It won't be too much longer and it will feel cold enough for these penguins.

Wreath

Wreaths are used all through out the year. I change the wreaths on my doors to decorate for each of the holidays. Today, the last of my many leaves will be raked and blown and my lawn will get it's last hair cut before winter sets in. A friend emailed me a recent picture of the snow covered streets in Chicago. The sure hope that white stuff stays North!

Monsters

Monsters always lurked in the dark among my Mothers unfolded clothes piled in the basket that sat in my bedroom. As a preschooler, I remember covering my head with the sheet so the monster couldn't find me. Quite an imagination I had. Maybe that's where my creativity sprung from. There's been many a monster; the Loch Ness, Big Foot and many an alien.

Tessy Turtle

Don't you just love turtles! Recently someone posted a video of turtles hatching from their egg and coming to the surface of the sand on a beach. It was amazing how many, like 100's, of turtles found their way across the sandy beach to the ocean. A few turtles had a little problems getting started in the right direction so the people filming the turtles gave them a little assistance with direction.

Bee Happy

Isn't it more enjoyable to "Be Happy" than to own a negative attitude? I've learned to be "happy" regardless of my circumstances. I accept what hardships knock on my door even though at times it's difficult. All one can do is your best and move forward. Choosing to be happy, and at times I admit it's been difficult, has made the impossible, possible. I take care of a paraplegic husband that I love dearly. Life can be very difficult and restrictive for me. I thank God everyday for all my blessings. Though....I admit, I think God wanted me to be a nurse, and I didn't listen....He's now making sure I do what he asked!

Take time to smell the flowers and put a smile on your face. It's more fun. Bee Happy!

Patriotic

Growing up I was always patriotic. We were proud to be Americans and proud to fly the American Flag. We treated our country and flag with respect, always. Times have changed for many over the generations. Me, yes, I'm still proud to be an American and grateful to all that have served our country since our quest for independence. Monday will be memorial day and I thank those Americans who have served our country to keep us free and safe. Thank you!

Sundaes Are Yummy!

So where are the bananas? I'm not much of an ice cream eater unless I'm munching on the homemade kind. But...I love a good banana split. When I was a teenager we would go to a deli to eat a snack before heading home for the night. Six of us would pile into a booth and order a Kitchen Sink. The Kitchen Sink was a giant bucket that was almost as large as the table. It was filled with 5 flavors of ice cream and topped with pineapple, strawberry and hot fudge sauce, piled with whipped cream and loads of cherries. Oh, and lets not forget 5 or 6 split bananas. OK, now I'm getting hungry for ice cream. Think I'll go make me a yummy banana spit!

Ice Cream Yum

In the very small town of Loudon, we have a cute, but yummy ice cream parlor called Tic Toc. They have the very best homemade ice cream made with lots of cream and tons of flavor. My favorite is chocolate chip. Vanilla ice cream with large chunks of semi-sweet chocolate running through the creamy vanilla ice cream. Customer's favorite is the waffle cone. I'm old fashion and like the plain old cake cone. Won't be long before Tic Toc opens their doors for the season. You can bet I'll be the first in line for their ice cream yum.
