The flu is in full swing where I live and sending get well cards has been constant though-out the month of January. Seems the flu shot didn't keep everyone from this strain of germs that just wipes you off your feet. I've been fortunate to stay relatively healthy this winter but some of my friends have not been so fortunate. Hope all of you fighting the winter virus' feel better soon. This weeks FREEBIE is a band-aid that is suitable to use on a Get Well card. You can download this weeks FREE Digi all day Sunday. It can be found under the FREEBIE Tab. Have fun with my image and keep those tissues close by! Y'all come back now! gail

Giving thanks is something I think about frequently. Some people, look at my life and wonder how does Gail do it? Why? Because I'm a caretaker for my favorite guy Basil. My husband unexpectedly became disabled in 2007 after back surgery left him a paraplegic. It took both of us quite a while to accept our new way of life and create a routine that works. We learned by the seat of our pants which I think made both of us stronger and wiser. I'm quite a distance from family which puts me pretty much on my own without help. My wonderful husband truly wants me to have whatever it is that makes me happy - and that's him. Who would ask for more. Every day I give thanks. I'm terribly grateful for my life, my loving husband, wonderful family, friends and neighbors who are always there to provide a helping hand. And of course I'm thankful to all of you that use my images for your own creations. Thank you! And so Giving Thanks is the theme for my FREE digi this week. I hope you enjoy it and remember to give thanks. The FREE DIGI can be downloaded under the FREEBIE Tab to the left. It will be available all day Sunday until midnight. Y'all come back now! gailSpooky really had nothing to do with this post other than this Sunday's FREE digi is word art. This week I spent very little time creating digital images. This weeks FREEBIE is a word art creation. How cute this will be on a card or used as an embellishment on a scrapbook page. Excuses, excuses, and I must say this is a good one. I'm one of the officers of our Badminton Club and I'm the gal that gets to collect the club's annual dues from it's members. Tonight was our Membership Drive Dinner. That's where I get to remind everyone how fun it is to play badminton and grab their money. We had about 28 of the 64 members attend the dinner. What fun we had eating outside on the patio of a local restaurant and enjoying great conversation with friends. We decided to take a picture of "just the girls" in the back of a 1954 truck. Can't see much of the truck, but this picture tells it all -- lots of fun and laughs. And Jimmy, it's his new truck, took center stage with all the ladies. Grab your FREE Digital image under the FREEBIES tab. It will be FREE all day Sunday until midnight.
Enjoy and be creative. And, Y'all come back now! When we were kids we would grab the largest bag we could find to trick or treat with on Halloween. When my brother and I would get home we would dump out all the candy and count to see who got the most stash. There was one house on our block that gave nickels instead of candy. Of course all us kids really liked getting money. However, Mr. Kavanaugh would make us do a trick to get our treat. We would sing or dance and all the grown-ups got a kick out of making us perform. This weeks FREE DIGI is a Halloween bag imprinted with candy corn. You can download this weeks FREEBIE under the FREEBIE tab before midnight all day Sunday. Y'all come back now! gailHave you ever walked through a haunted house? They can be pretty scary but for some reason I wanted to experience a spooky Halloween. A couple of friends and I decided to support a youth group's drive to raise money for their High School Senior Trip. The group renovated a barn into a Haunted House for Halloween. The entrance was by way of a tunnel leading from the outside. Slowly the diameter of the tunnel began to shrink smaller and smaller as we crawled on our hands and knees. I didn't realize my friend was claustrophobic. Eight feet into the tunnel she decided it was time to back out only to have three people behind her forced to crawl backwards to the entrance. I pushed forward only to find myself at the top of the barn loft facing a ladder requiring me to descend downward. This was the only way out---down. Not to bad unless you have a fear of heights like I do. Scary is mild compared to how I felt. I did push on and climb down the ladder to the floor of the barn, with my heart beating rapidly and the sweat pouring down my face. Seemed like a 100 steps to the bottom. That was the last year for a haunted house visit! This weeks Free Digi is a haunted House. Grab it before midnight Sunday and download it from the Sunday FREEBIE page. You'll find the page under the FREEBIE Tab. Enjoy and Y'all come back now! gailSoon we'll be raking leaves and picking up acorns from the oak trees. My friends collect thousands of acorns for the bears in the Smokies. This week my kids will be visiting to help with yard clean-up only to prepare me for raking the barrels of leaves that fall from my tree lined property. This week the digital FREEBIE is an acorn with oak leaves. Download the digital file before midnight Sunday. The download can be found under the FREEBIE Tab on the left. Enjoy! Hope you had a fun Labor Day Week-end, I sure did! Y'all come back now, gailWorking on projects that are too long term usually doesn't work for me. That's why I spend most of my creative juices on card making, rarely spending time scrapbooking. You can guess where all my photo's land...yep, inside a shoe box! On Pinterest I saw an picture of a shabby chic antique looking photo album that caught my eye. I just had to check it out. One site led me to another and I watched several videos. The next several days were spent watching YouTube videos and fascinated with learning how to make a 5" x 7" album. The pages were amazing, and full of flaps, tags, photo mats and pockets. A six page album can contain more than 24 photos and journaling spots. Best of all, the construction of the album can be made in a few hours. Designing the pages and covering them with coordinating paper takes a bit longer. I'm now working on my first 6 X 6", six page album and I'm having so much fun. It's a nice change. This week's FREEBIE is a snow-globe filled with fall leaves and a pumpkin. Download this FREE DIGI all day Sunday until midnight. Find the download in under the FREEBIE tab. Enjoy. Y'all come back now! gailThe summer is coming to an end :( And it will be the end of wearing our summer shorts. Labor Day seems to be the key to alerting us that summer days are close to an end. Schools will be full of students again and the weather will slowly cool down. I don't know about you, but I'm not at all ready to let go of summer. So here's one more digi reminding me of summer, Shorts! Next weeks I'll start to post Fall digital images which is a time of year that's fun to create and draw. Warm colors look good to my eye. Halloween is my favorite for card making. Green, purple, orange and black all seem to fit well together. The holiday's are packed into three consecutive months where you'll see just about everything holiday digi on my blog. Hurry and download SUNDAY'S FREEBIE the Hot Pant Shorts. It's the end of the FREE summer digis. Grab it before midnight Sunday and enjoy. And, visit me next week for a FREE Fall Digi. Y'all come back now! gailI was in need of a Thank-You card for a friend, which prompted the inspiration to draw strawberries. I found a very creative idea on SplitCoastStampers. A card creator took a piece of white card stock and punched holes to create a swiss cheese look, backed it with yellow card stock and added a mouse. Great idea! One that prompted me to say... why didn't I think of that? Next, I searched the internet for a digital image of a mouse and found this adorable image of a mouse holding a strawberry at Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. When creating a greeting card I finish the inside with as much time and creativity as I put into the outside of my card (the berries in the picture is the inside of the card). Since Berry Sweet Cocoa Mouse was holding a strawberry, I thought how cute to include a double strawberry to hold a banner for the inside sentiment. And so my strawberry digital image was born. My image has a white space on the bottom berry. I purposely left that open space for a sentiment. Those of you that want to use the image purely as a strawberry can fill in the space with dots to create the missing seeds. You can find my FREE digital image in the FREEBIE section under SUNDAY Digi. Download it for FREE until midnight Sunday. Hope you all enjoy. Why not try using circle punches to create a swiss cheese effect. It's fun and easy. Y'all come back now! GailOne of my favorite summer drinks is Limeade. I'll often purchase this tasty drink at the Sonic Drive-in. Yum!. It's cold and refreshing on a hot summer day. Even better is making a homemade, ice cold pitcher of the sweet, but sour drink. It's easy to make. Mix water, lime juice and sugar to taste. Add ice cubes, pour a little sparkling water into the glass and you have fizz. This week's digi is a glass of limeade topped with a drink umbrella. Color the lime slice yellow and you have a glass of lemonade. Turn the slice into an orange and you have a cocktail. Download this free digi all day Sunday until midnight.. Find the FREE download under the FREEBIE tab. Grab it soon! Happy Summer! Y'all come back now. gail |
