I just love Spring!  And, if you've been following my blog you know how much I dislike the wintery cold weather.  This week I was very late posting my FREE SUNDAY DIGI --- just worn out from all the spring clean-up. Been planting new shrubs; six of our bushes died this winter.   I quickly learned how to charge the riding mower battery with my husbands gadgets from the garage.  Oh, and how I dislike cleaning the deck and furniture, it's labor intensive. isn't it.   But spring, my favorite season -- when everything comes alive, including me! The fever hits me hard and being outside in the warm air is worth it all. I'll warn you now, you'll hear my tune change in August when the weather is the hottest.

So what did I do with this digi stamp?  I like the 3-D look on my cards.  I also use layers -- lots of layers.  I printed two tulip digi's and cut the front petals out of one print.  Then popped them onto the tulip.  I wanted the tulips in a pot, so I printed off a flower pot, cut it out and adhered it covering up the bow to get my pot of tulips.  Added a few gardening tools and Ta da... my thank-you card to my friend who's a gardener!

This weeks SUNDAY digi is a bouquet of tulips.  You can grab it FREE under my FREEBIES tab.  Enjoy and THINK SPRING!

Y'all come back now!

Remember....1960's VW Bug?

Nostalgia hits me occasionally and I love thinking about the exiting times of the 1960's.   I'm an old gal with many memories growing up in that era. Remember the Maxi coats, clogs, mini skirts, The Beatles and what about the VW Bug? I had several of these cute little Bugs which are still seen driving on the highways today.

Thought this cut little bug would make an interesting greeting card. Try changing the saying on the license plates by making a sentiment that fits the plate.  Here's a few words you can try:   U Rock, B-Day, B Mine, Thanks, or UR Special. Have fun creating your own vanity plate for this buggy.

Get this digital image FREE all day Sunday.  Find it under the FREEBIE tab.  Grab it soon, it's gone at midnight.

Have fun with this image and Y'all come back now!

LADYBUGS EVERYWHERE!

This weeks FREEBIE is a Ladybug.  And, I hope she is the last that I see for a while!  We had a large hatching of ladybugs this Fall, 100's of thousands.  My side yard and the sunny side of my house was covered with the spotted critters.  If you've ever experienced the black fly explosion then you know exactly what I experienced.  I opened my kitchen door only to have 100's fly into the house.  Even though its  still winter with frigid weather these bugs are still showing up in my house.  It's a daily hunt!

Growing up I believed that Ladybugs would bring you good luck when you came across one.  I guess I should buy a lottery ticket!

This weeks FREE digital image is a Ladybug that you can grab all day Sunday until midnight under the FREEBIE tab.  The download includes a B&W and Colored JEPEG image.

Stay warm.  Thanks for visiting me.  And, Y'all come back now!

My family and I enjoyed a quiet and peaceful holiday.  Just wish we had a bit warmer weather here in East Tennessee.  We'll be ringing in the 2014 New Year in just a couple of days but right now I'm thinking about my valentine cards and tags.

I designed a valentine shirt this week.  It's FREE this Sunday. Look under FREEBIES and download the digital file before midnight.  With some creativity you can turn this digi shirt into a card that opens at the shoulders, use it as a tag or as a digital print for your paper projects.

Sure hope your Christmas or Hanukkah holidays were joyous and wishing everyone a healthy and prosperous 2014.

Thanks for visiting my site and don't forget....

It's Not Snowing

My husband and I spent the week in the Smokey Mountains with friends. What a great week.  The weather was far from snowy!  Yesterday afternoon the temperature reached a spring-like 76 degrees.  Can you believe it!  I'm not complaining....I love snowmen but I dislike that white stuff that has to be shoveled.

But, soon it will be Christmas and it should be snowing.  What's more appropriate than Mr. Snowman.  This weeks's FREE digi is just that.  Grab it by midnight Sunday.  Hope you enjoy him.

Wishing everyone a very wonderful holiday!

Merry Christmas and Y'all come back now!

2014 A New Year

12/14/2013

This week I decided that most people have their Christmas Cards, Invitations, Place Cards, Tree Trimming and anything else Christmas already completed....except maybe all the present wrapping.  I decided to move on to the next holiday and design a New Years WordArt for my Sunday FREEBIE.  The WordArt  can be used for a New Year's greeting card  or an invitation.

Several years ago we had a family member hospitalized and there was no time to make Christmas cards.  So, I sent everyone a Happy New Years Card.

Read below how I created this very simple card to ring in 2014.
PictureNew Years Card or Party Invitation

The WordArt was printed on glossy paper.  I used photo paper. When the photo finished printing I immediately sprinkled clear, translucent  glitter over the top of the WordArt.  Then I lightly brushed across the top of the photo so that minimal glitter was left on the print...just enough to give it a bit of sparkle.  7 layers of card stock; gold glitter, black gloss and silver paper.  Each layer was cut 1/4" smaller than the previous layer. Gold card stock was used for the card base. Pop dots were used to elevate the top 4 layers and I added a ribbon to the top 6 layers.  Simple isn't it?

This digi stamp also works for a New Year's Party invitation or can be incorporated into a center piece for your New Years Eve Celebration.

Enjoy this stamp for FREE  this Sunday under  the FREEBiE tab.

Y'all come back now!

Christmas Tags

Preparing for gift giving always includes gift tags to keep all my presents labeled correctly, especially with gift giving to such a large family as I have.

This weeks FREE digi is a Christmas stocking that can be used in several ways; as a gift tag, an embellishment for the top of a gift, or an ornament for your tree.  It's especially a fun craft  project for kids.

I used red paper for the boot and silver glitter paper for the cuff, toe and heel.  After cutting and attaching these parts, I ran the stocking through an embossing machine such as a CuttleBug or Big Shot. I cut a second cuff to place on the back side of the tag and sandwiched the ribbon loop between the two cuffs using double sided tape.  Using two sizes of oval punches (1-3/4" and   1-3/8") I created a name tag in red and white so I had a spot to hand print the gift recipient's name.  A hole punch was used to place an opening in the top of the oval tag.  Then I threaded the hole with a piece of ribbon tied into a simple knot and attached with a large glue dot.  I then added the holly leaves with glue dots and the berries with craft glue.    Another idea is to add some stitching lines around the bottom of the cuff, the toe and the heel edge with a black marker or pen.  I added my stitching after I took the photo so it's not shown in the picture above.

Simple and fun.   Hope you enjoy.

Y'all come back now!

Burrrrr..... SnowGlobes

This was such a fun card to make!  And, you can find the SnowGlobe Digi FREE this Sunday.  So Hurry and grab it before Midnight.

I folded down the corner of the card base and used a brad.  Then I used coordinating red, black and grey/white plaid to go with my red back-ground.  You'll find the plaid paper under the Shop Digital Paper Tab.  It's hard to see but the background has embossed stripes which gives the card texture.  After I colored the snowman globe I added "Let It Snow", used a word label punch and added it to the base of the globe.  To make it look like it's snowing in the globe, I used a clear glue pen and covered the globe with glue.  Then I sprinkled Glow Glitter over the print.  I layered the digital print on a 3" scalloped circle.

Picture
I like finishing the inside of my cards to coordinate with my card design. You can see I used the plaid and red paper to match the outside of my card.

Have fun with this weeks free digi.
 Y'all come back now!

Stacking a Digi

Stacking a digital image creates a new stamp using the same image repeatedly.  I created this image of the stacked gift box by layering them together in Apple's Pages software.  I inserted the single gift box and copied the image so that I had three gift boxes on my page. Then I arranged each box on top of the another and rotated the top two boxes.  The boxes can be layered by bringing the boxes forward or backward. Microsoft's Word and Photoshop software will also give you the ability to stack multiple images simply by using copy, paste and arranging the layers in front and behind one another.
