Finally, after many decades of ignoring recipes that called for yeast, I mustered enough courage to give it a try. Now with instant yeast, it's not important to get the water temp just right. I first tried my hand at pizza dough and produced a very sad looking pizza. Bud, my husband, thought it was good. Hey, he thinks everything taste good! My son, well he skipped dinner and so did I. After a couple of weeks of feeling a failure in the yeast department, I decided to try my hand at making Cinnamon Buns, the kind that look like "Cinnabon Buns". Must say they were so delicious, it was hard to keep the troops from eating them before I got a taste. Who doesn't like cinnamon? This weeks inspiration came from my scrumptious cinnamon buns. Next week we celebrate Fathers Day. What fond memories I have of my Dad. He was very charismatic and his voice was deep and commanding. When he laughed he was loud, but jolly. I remember being in a restaurant with him and a radio personality approached the table. They were so intrigued by the sound of his laughter, he was asked to join their broadcast's Christmas show to share his laugh with the world. I remembered sitting in front of the radio with my family and listening to my Father laughing on the radio. I inherited his not so lady like laugh, that at times, brings a glance or two. My Father loved sports and one of his favorites was Golf. This week's FREEBIE is a golf bag. You can download it for free all Day Sunday. It's found under the Freebies Tab. Enjoy....and Y'all come back now. This week-end was full of fun and surprises! So before we get to the vegetables, I have to say my Chicago friends threw me a birthday party right here in Tennessee. We had a fabulous time and everyone brought a dish to complement a Lasagna Dinner. I can't thank everyone enough for their thoughtfulness. The day after the party we went out for a boat ride on the Lake and had brunch at one of the local restaurants. We ended the evening with Mexican food. Yum! Of course today's digital images have absolutely no relevance to my birthday party. Since I didn't post an image last week, I am posting four vegetable images that can be downloaded all day Sunday for FREE.. You can find the downloads under the FREEBiES Tab. Hope everyone had a fun holiday, I sure did. Now, Y'all come back now. gailBirthdays come and go. It's hard to believe I've lived a majority of my life already. Time has flown by so quickly I often pause to reflect on my life. The very best and happiest of times was having children and grandchildren. All the twists and turns through the years have blessed me with wonderful experiences - even the most difficult challenges. My birthday is around the corner and I plan to celebrate BIG. Not sure just what yet, still have a few weeks to go before the big day. I thought a digital birthday cake was appropriate since I'll soon be celebrating. Several of my friends will be visiting me from out of town next week so you can look for my SUNDAY FREEBIE posting on Tuesday or Wednesday. You can download this FREE image all day Sunday until Monday afternoon. Go to the FREEBIES Tab and Click on Sunday Digi. Hope you enjoy and Y'all come back now. gailBefore I post today's Digital FREEBIE I wanted to post a picture of the card I made using the paint brush that was last week's FREE Digital Image. I printed, cut and colored three paint brushes. I squiggled ink from the paint brush to look like dripping paint and then used Glossy Accents on the painted areas. I used the Pages software to print the sentiment on the front side. Since it's a graduation card I made a pocket on the inside of the card to hold money or gift card. This week's digi will follow shortly. Y'all come back now! gailSo....what can we design with a paint brush digital image? What about a get well card "Paint your way to feeling better". Or, color the paint brush blue and say " Paint away the Blues". What about a birthday message that says..." Have a colorful Birthday. My plans are for a graduation card and it will read..." Life is art, paint your dreams. My paint brush was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest. You can download the FREEBIE digital image of the paint brush all day Sunday. Click on the FREEBIE Tab and go to SUNDAY Digi. Click on FREE and download the image. Enjoy! And y'all come back now. gailHAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I have a new Granddaughter, Natalie Rose. What better gift for Mother's Day than another Grand Baby! This weeks FREEBIE is a wagon filled with posies. I'll print two of the images and pop up several flowers. If you've been following me for a while you know I like layers and I use three dimentional effects on my cards any time I can. Enjoy my FREEBIE all day Sunday. Find it under the FREEBIES Tab. Grab it while you can. And as always...... Y'all come back now! gailLast week I posted a wooden fishing sign as the FREE digital image for Sunday. I had explained in my post my idea for a card using this image. Now I'd like to share with you the card I made.
It's very 3-dimentional which is difficult to see in the picture. I used distress ink to water color my background and then cut out a rough edged rectangle from the center of the card. I popped the image frame so the square was inlaided flat onto the card. I printed my wooden post, colored it with copic markers. Jolie shells were added to the front. The fishing pole had a hook on the end of the fishing line which was yellow thread The greenery was stamped and cut from MFT, Blissful Blooms set. Summer is almost here and fishing is on the minds of water sportsmen. Father's day is also just around the corner. Making cards for guys is difficult for me. My creative side wants to make "pretty things" that just don't work for masculine themes. I thought I'd take a few weeks create images that can be used for masculine cards, journals or scrapbook pages.. Now we all know that women fish, play golf and engage in all kinds of sports. That's why this image is appropriate for anyone who likes the sport of fishing. I haven't made the card yet, but here's my plan for the image. Create a beach scene with sand, water and in the horizon a orange-yellow sun rising in the background. Maybe a few birds in the sky with a "V" stroke of the pen. My scene will be created with watercolors. After painting my scene, cut a circle out of the middle of the beach scene using a 2-1/2" punch. Adhere the card stock with the punched out circle to the card base with pop-ups or foam tape. Position the painted punched circle inside the cut out and adhere flat to the card base. The scene will then look 3-D dimensional. I'll print my fishing sign, cut and color and pop-up the image onto the right side of the card. I have an embellishment of a fishing rod and a fisherman's basket that I'll adhere to the left front. I purchased a few tiny shell embellishments that I'll add to the sandy beach. Haven't decided where to put the sentiment on the front of the card yet. Maybe I'll just fill the inside with my thoughts and leave the outside with only the scene I created. You can download this image all day Sunday and into Monday this week. You can find it in the FREEBIES Section. Enjoy the image and I'll see Y'all next week. Happy May! gailMother's Day is around the corner and I thought making pretty paper and a sentiment would be a good start for a card. I've been sick for a while and was unable to post last week. I've created something for all of you. At some point I will use the paper and sentiment to make a card for my daughters and daughter-in-law. I'm still under the weather and slowly recovering from what ever bug I picked up. My plans are to draw a digital image for next week. See you next week. You can find these images FREE all day Sunday under the FREEBIES Tab. Y'all come back now! gail |
