Birthdays come and go. It's hard to believe I've lived a majority of my life already. Time has flown by so quickly I often pause to reflect on my life. The very best and happiest of times was having children and grandchildren. All the twists and turns through the years have blessed me with wonderful experiences - even the most difficult challenges. My birthday is around the corner and I plan to celebrate BIG. Not sure just what yet, still have a few weeks to go before the big day. I thought a digital birthday cake was appropriate since I'll soon be celebrating. Several of my friends will be visiting me from out of town next week so you can look for my SUNDAY FREEBIE posting on Tuesday or Wednesday. Last week I posted a wooden fishing sign as the FREE digital image for Sunday. I had explained in my post my idea for a card using this image. Now I'd like to share with you the card I made.
It's very 3-dimentional which is difficult to see in the picture. I used distress ink to water color my background and then cut out a rough edged rectangle from the center of the card. I popped the image frame so the square was inlaided flat onto the card. I printed my wooden post, colored it with copic markers. Jolie shells were added to the front. The fishing pole had a hook on the end of the fishing line which was yellow thread The greenery was stamped and cut from MFT, Blissful Blooms set. In the very small town of Loudon, we have a cute, but yummy ice cream parlor called Tic Toc. They have the very best homemade ice cream made with lots of cream and tons of flavor. My favorite is chocolate chip. Vanilla ice cream with large chunks of semi-sweet chocolate running through the creamy vanilla ice cream. Customer's favorite is the waffle cone. I'm old fashion and like the plain old cake cone. Won't be long before Tic Toc opens their doors for the season. You can bet I'll be the first in line for their ice cream yum. This week's FREE digi is none other than an ice cream cone covered in jimmies with a cherry on top. You can find the FREEBIE by clicking on the FREEBIES tab. It's Sunday's free digi and is free to download all day Sunday until midnight. Enjoy, and Y'all come back now! gailHoo's Birthday is it? It's my friend Brenda's Birthday. We were both born in the same year. That means that I am 2,006,380,547 seconds old at this moment. Sounds very old huh? Got a say that I'm glad we are counting years and not seconds. Wow, the thought that I'm billions of seconds old sounds like I'm ancient. Hummm? Charley Owl is celebrating today and he's a bit younger....777,539 seconds old. Here's hoping you have a great week ahead and enjoy my FREE Digi all day Sunday. Find the download under the FREEBIE TAB. Y'all come back now. Saturday I celebrated my Birthday. It's a senior birthday and I'm not disclosing my age, at least not on the internet. Singing happy birthday is a tradition that most people practice. Add the accompaniment of a piano and it's pure fun. Everyone sings and the birthday girl or boy is all smiles. My gift to you is a digi of a piano. Find the digital image FREE under the FREEBIES tab all day Sunday. When using the image to make a greeting card, fit the piano to the front of a folded piece of card stock. Then cut the curve of the piano from the card front. Then just embellish. Hope you enjoy my digi as much as I enjoyed my special day. Y'all come back now! gailLate is engraved in my genes. And last night I had a few computer issues that kept my post and FREE digi from being uploaded on time. I don't drink beer but could have used a cold one to chill out yesterday while I was dealing with my very uncooperative software. Ask my son who was trying to help me and he'll tell you quickly that after multiple calls from his mother, it wasn't the software but the computer operator causing the issue. And, he was right! Thoughts about father's day and knowing I have a bit of Irish in my blood, I've chosen my beer mug for this week's FREE digital image. You can find it FREE under the FREEBIES tab. Enjoy and Y'all come back now! gailTennessee had a few very hot days and now the temp has dropped 20+ degrees and I am bundled with a sweater and a blanket. Hey warm weather, y'all come back to the South! Sympathy to those of you who live around the Chicago area. You had snow showers visit in May. Burrrr! This digi fan image is my toast to warmer weather. Use this image to make a card and send it to someone really cool! Download this digital image for FREE under the FREEBIE tab. Enjoy, and y'all come back now! gailWow! This was such a fun card to make. And, believe it or not..it was very easy. Though, it takes planning to choose the embellishments for the inside of the card box. When the box card is complete, it folds flat in an envelope. When the card is open, it displays itself like a box filled with all types of fun things. This week's FREE Digi are Easter Eggs. Add the egg embellishment, a bunny and some straw to the inside of the box for an interesting Easter Card, especially for kids. Grab your FREEBIE image before midnight Sunday. You'll find the FREE digi under the FREEBIES TAB. Download a FREE tutorial on how to make a Box Card under the TUTORIAL TAB in the Card Folds section. The complete BOX CARD Birthday set can be found under SHOP CARD KITS. Change up the "girlfriend" on the Birthday Disc easily by adding a pop up to a rectangle over the "girlfriend" that says; Mom, Son, Sister, Daughter, Granddaughter Dad, or any personalized name. Enjoy! And, Y'all come back now. gailThis week's FREE Digi is a banner set that spells out HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Using these same letters I came up with several other words I could use with my projects. In fact, when I searched on this SITE I found 231 words, using the letters in Happy Birthday. Words such as RAPID, BAR, BAIT, TRIP, DIARY, HAIR, TIP, BATH, PAPA, and PRAY to mention just a few. I decided for this weeks greeting card I would use the bee from last weeks set and the banner letters DAY. Adding a little Glossy Accents gave my card a bit of dimension and shine, though I don't think the picture shows it. I layered my letters by sizing the plain banner a bit larger. Cutting out all the banner letters takes time but I was happy with the results. The FREEBIE set includes 9 letters to spell HAPPY BIRTHDAY and two additional banners to add your own letters. Hope you have fun creating words with my Banner Set. Y'all come back now! gailMaking masculine cards is something I don't do too often -- that is unless one of the guys in our family have a Birthday. For me, it's easier to conjure up card designs using pretty colors, flowers and ribbons. This Sunday's digital stamp and circle sentiments can be used for anyone that likes their coffee. This stamp can be used for just about any occasion. Personally, I don't drink coffee, I'm a tea drinker. But I must say with all this cold snowy weather, a good cup of Hot Chocolate sounds good! A Coffee Cup digital stamp and sentiment circles are FREE this Sunday. You can download them under the FREEBIE Tab. I'm looking forward to the "Iced Coffee" weather. How about you? Have fun with this weeks FREEBIE. And, Y'all come back now! gail |
