I'm back from my break with a FREE Digital Image each and every Sunday.  This week's digi is a witch upside-down in a caldron of brew.  Halloween is around the corner and I'm busy making Halloween cards.  Halloween is my very favorite season for card making.  The colors are bright and vibrant and work so well together.

Enjoy and please come back next week to see what's being offered to download for FREE.  You can download the free image shown for the next 24 hours.  Hurry before it's gone.  Find it under the FREEBIES tab.

Happy crafting......and Y'all come back now!

LuLu Hippo

Hippo makes me think of Large, Overweight, Pleasingly Plump and a few more adjectives that come to mind.  To me this spells DIET.  I've been dieting all my life.  Twice, recently,  I was injected with steroids for a poison ivy rash.  But steroids can make the numbers on the scale go upward.  It was time to diet.  Off to the food store to buy myself some low-fat foods.  I spent two weeks eating low-fat, low-cal food.  Mealtime was not enjoyable!   I lost 9 pounds but at a cost of being miserable so I  quit the diet.  I decided that eating foods I disliked would come to a halt.  My low-fat crackers, frozen turkey burgers, and fat free everything when to friends and family.  The trick to remain on a good diet is to eat a balanced meal and cut the portions.  If I want bacon, then I eat only one slice.  Need a sweet, eat one small cookie or a hershey kiss to satisfy the chocolate urge. Dieting is working much better and I'm a much happier dieter.  No Hippo for me....well, maybe a little!!

This weeks digi is a Hippo  dressed in a TuTu.  LuLu will be available for download all day Sunday and Monday.  Get her while you can.  You can find the FREEBIE under the FREEBIE tab.  Have fun with her and I'll see y'all next week!

Plaid Digital Paper

Using digital paper is easy and convenient.  I own an Epson ET2500 which has large external tanks.  The printer cost is over $200., but it's ink lasts the average printer user a year.  Using my old Epson I was spending just short of $100. every month on ink.  I purchased a CIS for my previous printer and saved more than $500. on ink.  With this new Epson printer, the ink tanks are still more than half full after more than 6 months of heavy use.  The savings using the Epson ET2500 has more than paid for the printer and several ink tank refills for future printing.  I print my own paper for all my craft projects.  That's a lot of ink!  When I purchase digital paper I download it to a folder on my computer.  I use a Mac, so when I double click on the file, the digital paper expands to PREVIEW mode.  I can choose to print or export to PDF.  It can also be imported into Word, Pages, Photoshop or Silhouette Studio.   I use Epson's presentation paper to print digital paper which is a heavier weight than copy paper, but prints color exceptionally well.  It's made to print colored images and type.

In the example I used the plaid paper as my background paper for a thank you card.  I hope you can use this colorful paper on projects you create.

The digital paper can be downloaded all day Sunday and early Monday.  Find the download in the FREEBIES section and enjoy!

Watermelon Anyone?

Finally a FREEBIE for everyone.  Two Sunday's ago the site where I have my images had problems keeping their site up and running.  Some of you were able to download, others not so lucky.  Then last week my dog became very ill and after a Sunday visit to the emergency veterinarian clinic, a shot and some meds, Buster is just about recovered.

This Sunday and Monday I will have both this weeks digi and last weeks digi available for those of you that were unable to access the FREEBIE.

Watermelon is a beautiful delicious looking fruit when cut, but I just don't like melon.  It's funny that I REALLY want to like it.  Watermelon looks so inviting to eat and let's face it, not too many calories.  Years ago one of the guys that worked with me was on a diet.  I recommended that he eat watermelon since it had little calories.  Unfortunately, he ate so much of it and he actually gained weight.  He wasn't happy with me and also didn't realize that large amounts of the delicious fruit contains huge amounts of water and water gain will happen!

This weeks FREEBIE can be found under the FREEBIES tab.  It can be downloaded by clicking on FREE.  Enjoy this weeks digi and I hope to see you all next week.

Y'all come back now!

July 4th

We've lived many places through-out the United States and everywhere we've lived fireworks have been part of our Independence Day celebration.  One year while living in Pennsylvania, we watched the sky light up with fireworks being set off from a barge on the Delaware River where George Washington crossed in his boat..  We've watched from hill tops in our car, from lawn chairs in our back yard and from stadium seats.  It's a day to be thankful for the freedom we have and to appreciate what our forefathers fought to preserve for generations in the future.  We'll celebrate here in TN with fireworks over the lake and just maybe from the comfort of our deck.

This weeks image is 8.5 X 11" digital paper with a July 4th color theme. You can download the FREE digital paper by going to the FREEBIES Tab.  It's available all day Sunday for download.  Enjoy,

And, Y'all come back now!.

Cinnamon Buns

Finally, after many decades of ignoring recipes that called for yeast, I mustered enough courage to give it a try.  Now with instant yeast, it's not important to get the water temp just right. I first tried my hand at pizza dough and produced a very sad looking pizza.  Bud, my husband, thought it was good.  Hey, he thinks everything taste good!  My son, well he skipped dinner and so did I.  After a couple of weeks of feeling a failure in the yeast department, I decided to try my hand at making Cinnamon Buns, the kind that look like "Cinnabon Buns".  Must say they were so delicious, it was hard to keep the troops from eating them before I got a taste.  Who doesn't like cinnamon?

This weeks inspiration came from my scrumptious cinnamon buns.  You can download the FREEBIE all day Sunday and Monday this week.  You can find the FREE digital image under the FREEBIES Tab.  Enjoy!

Vegetable Planting

6/4/2016

This  week-end was full of fun and surprises!  So before we get to the vegetables, I have to say my Chicago friends threw me a birthday party right here in Tennessee.  We had a fabulous time and everyone brought a dish to complement a Lasagna Dinner.  I can't thank everyone enough for their thoughtfulness.  The day after the party we went out for a boat ride on the Lake and had brunch at one of the local restaurants.  We ended  the evening with Mexican food.  Yum!  Of course today's digital images have absolutely no relevance to my birthday party.

Since I didn't post an image last week, I am posting four vegetable images that can be downloaded all day Sunday for FREE..

Birthdays

Birthdays come and go.  It's hard to believe I've lived a majority of my life already.  Time has flown by so quickly I often pause to reflect on my life.  The very best and happiest of times was having children and grandchildren.   All the twists and turns through the years have blessed me with wonderful experiences - even the most difficult challenges.  My birthday is around the corner and I plan to celebrate BIG.  Not sure just what yet, still have a few weeks to go before the big day.  I thought a digital birthday cake was appropriate  since  I'll soon be celebrating.  Several of my friends will be visiting me from out of town next week so you can look for my SUNDAY FREEBIE posting on Tuesday or Wednesday.

You can download this FREE image all day Sunday until Monday afternoon.  Go to the FREEBIES Tab and Click on Sunday Digi.

Hope you enjoy and Y'all come back now.

Paint Your World

So....what can we design with a paint brush digital image?   What about a get well card "Paint your way to feeling better".  Or,  color the paint brush blue and say " Paint away the Blues".  What about a birthday message that says..."  Have a colorful Birthday.  My plans are for a graduation card and it will read..."   Life is art, paint your dreams.  My paint brush was inspired by a card I found on Pinterest.

You can download the FREEBIE digital image of the paint brush all day Sunday.  Click on the FREEBIE Tab and go to SUNDAY Digi.  Click on FREE and download the image.

Enjoy!  And y'all come back now.

Fishing Hole

5/1/2016

Summer is almost here and fishing is on the minds of water sportsmen.  Father's day is also just around the corner.  Making cards for guys is difficult for me.  My creative side wants to make "pretty things" that just don't work for masculine themes.  I thought I'd take a few weeks create images that can be used for  masculine cards, journals or scrapbook pages..  Now we all know that women fish, play golf and engage in all kinds of sports.  That's why this image is appropriate for anyone who likes the sport of fishing.  I haven't made the card yet, but here's my plan for the image.

Create a beach scene with sand, water and in the horizon a orange-yellow sun rising in the background.  Maybe a few birds in the sky with a "V" stroke of the pen.  My scene will be created with watercolors.  After painting my scene, cut a circle out of the middle of the beach scene using a 2-1/2" punch.  Adhere the card stock with the punched out circle to the card base with pop-ups or foam tape.  Position the painted punched circle inside the cut out and adhere flat to the card base.  The scene will then look 3-D dimensional.  I'll print my fishing sign, cut and color and pop-up the image onto the right side of the card.  I have an embellishment of a fishing rod and a fisherman's basket that I'll adhere to the left front.  I purchased a few tiny shell embellishments that I'll add to the sandy beach.  Haven't decided where to put the sentiment on the front of the card yet.  Maybe I'll just fill the inside with my thoughts and leave the outside with only the scene I created.

You can download this image all day Sunday and into Monday this week.  You can find it in the FREEBIES Section.

Enjoy the image and I'll see Y'all next week.

Happy May!
