Didn't the summer months fly by quickly. I'm not at all ready to give up the summer. We know that School days are around the corner when Tennesseans enjoy the tax free week-end August 1-3 on clothes, school supplies and on computers.

It's Not a Peach But a Pear

Peach season will soon be ending and I'll miss my favorite fruit. When ripe they taste so sweet and juicy.

I purchased a container of very excellent tasting peaches only to receive a call that the California packer had discovered Listeria bacteria in their equipment. The peaches I bought may have been tainted. Thousands of people were effected. Did you get a call too?

You know, I was not a happy peach lover after that phone call. After researching the strain of bacteria I found that the incubation period can be up to 70 days. Wasn't too happy after reading that information either. The good news is that I feel fine with no symptoms with 19 days from ingesting. I have 51 more days ahead of me with the task of trying not to worry and keeping positive. So.....it's not going to be peaches this Sunday but PEARS.
