Spooky really had nothing to do with this post other than this Sunday's FREE digi is word art. This week I spent very little time creating digital images. This weeks FREEBIE is a word art creation. How cute this will be on a card or used as an embellishment on a scrapbook page.

Excuses, excuses, and I must say this is a good one. I'm one of the officers of our Badminton Club and I'm the gal that gets to collect the club's annual dues from it's members. Tonight was our Membership Drive Dinner. That's where I get to remind everyone how fun it is to play badminton and grab their money. We had about 28 of the 64 members attend the dinner. What fun we had eating outside on the patio of a local restaurant and enjoying great conversation with friends. We decided to take a picture of "just the girls" in the back of a 1954 truck. Can't see much of the truck, but this picture tells it all -- lots of fun and laughs. And Jimmy, it's his new truck, took center stage with all the ladies.

It's Not a Peach But a Pear

Peach season will soon be ending and I'll miss my favorite fruit. When ripe they taste so sweet and juicy.

I purchased a container of very excellent tasting peaches only to receive a call that the California packer had discovered Listeria bacteria in their equipment. The peaches I bought may have been tainted. Thousands of people were effected. Did you get a call too?

You know, I was not a happy peach lover after that phone call. After researching the strain of bacteria I found that the incubation period can be up to 70 days. Wasn't too happy after reading that information either. The good news is that I feel fine with no symptoms with 19 days from ingesting. I have 51 more days ahead of me with the task of trying not to worry and keeping positive. So.....it's not going to be peaches this Sunday but PEARS. Sunday's FREEBIE is a pair of pears and word art that simply says You're a Sweet Pair.

BANNERS FOR BIRTHDAYS

This week's FREE Digi is a banner set that spells out HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Using these same letters I came up with several other words I could use with my projects.
In fact, when I searched on this

SITE I found 231 words, using the letters in Happy Birthday. Words such as RAPID, BAR, BAIT, TRIP, DIARY, HAIR, TIP, BATH, PAPA, and PRAY to mention just a few.

I decided for this weeks greeting card I would use the bee from last weeks set and the banner letters DAY. Adding a little Glossy Accents gave my card a bit of dimension and shine, though I don't think the picture shows it. I layered my letters by sizing the plain banner a bit larger. Cutting out all the banner letters takes time but I was happy with the results.

The FREEBIE set includes 9 letters to spell HAPPY BIRTHDAY and two additional banners to add your own letters.

Bee's Buzz'n Pull Out Card

Last Sunday's FREEBIE was this bee hive and I decided to create a card with a different fold. This card is a Double Pull Card. Pull on the ribbon and it opens up to a message on the right and left.

I sized the single bee from the Bee Hive Set and placed two different sized bees on the card. It's hard to see, but I also added googly eyes onto two of the bees. On the pull-out sides I added the message Hurry Up! on the left side and Get Well on the right pull-out. These sentiment banners can be found under the Words and Sentiments tab. Coffee Time

Making masculine cards is something I don't do too often -- that is unless one of the guys in our family have a Birthday. For me, it's easier to conjure up card designs using pretty colors, flowers and ribbons. This Sunday's digital stamp and circle sentiments can be used for anyone that likes their coffee. This stamp can be used for just about any occasion. Personally, I don't drink coffee, I'm a tea drinker. But I must say with all this cold snowy weather, a good cup of Hot Chocolate sounds good!

Think of all the ways this can be used; make a button, embellish a scrapbook page or greeting card, create cupcake picks or add to the end of long dowel for use in a valentine flower arrangement. I know you can think of many ideas to use this button. Enjoy!

2014 A New Year

This week I decided that most people have their Christmas Cards, Invitations, Place Cards, Tree Trimming and anything else Christmas already completed....except maybe all the present wrapping. I decided to move on to the next holiday and design a New Years WordArt for my Sunday FREEBIE. The WordArt can be used for a New Year's greeting card or an invitation.

Several years ago we had a family member hospitalized and there was no time to make Christmas cards. So, I sent everyone a Happy New Years Card.

Read below how I created this very simple card to ring in 2014.

New Years Card or Party Invitation

The WordArt was printed on glossy paper. I used photo paper. When the photo finished printing I immediately sprinkled clear, translucent glitter over the top of the WordArt. Then I lightly brushed across the top of the photo so that minimal glitter was left on the print...just enough to give it a bit of sparkle. 7 layers of card stock; gold glitter, black gloss and silver paper. Each layer was cut 1/4" smaller than the previous layer. Gold card stock was used for the card base. Pop dots were used to elevate the top 4 layers and I added a ribbon to the top 6 layers. Simple isn't it?

This digi stamp also works for a New Year's Party invitation or can be incorporated into a center piece for your New Years Eve Celebration.

Digi Sunday Snowflake

It's another Digi Sunday and you can grab two free digital images under the FREEBIES tab. This week's feature are Snowflake stamps. It's getting colder and some USA cities have already had snow visit there back yard. It's that time of year to use the snowflakes in our paper designs.

Download the image to your computer. If you insert the image into Word, Pages or a photo editing software it can be resized by grabbing the corner of the image and dragging it to the desired size. You can also add text to the center of the snowflake or purchase the Word Circles for Word, Pages or a PDF file. This stamp works great for a card or a scrapbook page during the winter season.
