Whenever we were together you could always count on a memorable event. We had a friend that moved back home to Oklahoma and Karen wanted to make a video for all the people that touched Lyn's life including all her favorite things in the town where we lived. She borrowed a video camera. At the time the cameras were very large and very expensive. This was a $3,000 camera and since she was technically challenged, it was up to me to carry on as the camera lady. All I could think of was what happens if I break the thing.
We spent the day taping and laughing and having fun driving around from town to town visiting friends, Lyn's favorite shops, restaurants and parks. Karen wanted the video to look like a movie. She took a roll of old wallpaper and draped it over the top of a door. She proceeded to write the credits on the paper and as I filmed, she pulled the paper down the back side of the door moving the "credits" just like you see at the end of a movie.
Now it was time to watch the video. We laughed so hard we cried. Several times while filming I forgot to take off the lens cap and all you heard was the two of us talking and laughing.... no picture. The video at several spots wiggled up and down from the car ride. It made you feel sea sick from the motion. And most hilarious was the sound of the wallpaper being pulled from the floor over the top of the door. It sounded like a dead body being dragged across the floor. Film Makers we weren't! Karen wanted something special for Lyn so she wouldn't miss what she left behind. Karen always Colored Everyone's World. I sure miss my best friend.
