HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY! I have a new Granddaughter, Natalie Rose. What better gift for Mother's Day than another Grand Baby! This weeks FREEBIE is a wagon filled with posies. I'll print two of the images and pop up several flowers. If you've been following me for a while you know I like layers and I use three dimentional effects on my cards any time I can. Enjoy my FREEBIE all day Sunday. Find it under the FREEBIES Tab. Grab it while you can. And as always...... Y'all come back now! gailEvery girl likes to receive flowers and roses are a popular choice at Valentines Day. My husband is very good at choosing gifts that showed he understood the way to my heart. During one period of our marriage, Bud would send flowers to my office every week. This caused a huge problem with the girls in my office. They all went home expecting their husbands and boyfriends to send them flowers on a regular basis also. Bud was very thoughtful and sent beautiful bouquets for no special reason....just because. It's a wonderful memory. This weeks's digi is a bouquet of roses. You can download the FREEBIE all day Sunday by selecting "Sunday" under the FREEBIES Tab. Get it before midnight. Y'all come back now! gailIsn't it more enjoyable to "Be Happy" than to own a negative attitude? I've learned to be "happy" regardless of my circumstances. I accept what hardships knock on my door even though at times it's difficult. All one can do is your best and move forward. Choosing to be happy, and at times I admit it's been difficult, has made the impossible, possible. I take care of a paraplegic husband that I love dearly. Life can be very difficult and restrictive for me. I thank God everyday for all my blessings. Though....I admit, I think God wanted me to be a nurse, and I didn't listen....He's now making sure I do what he asked! Take time to smell the flowers and put a smile on your face. It's more fun. Bee Happy! This weeks digi is FREE and you can download it all day Sunday. Find it under the FREEBIES tab. Hurry, it's gone after midnight. Y'all come back now! gailI am often inspired by postings on Pinterest. I saw a gorgeous greeting card made with embossed vellum. This technique works best using a stamp whose image consists of mostly thin lines or images that would be colored with ink or other medium. Stamp an image using clear VersaMark ink onto a sheet of vellum. Emboss your image with white detail embossing powder. Careful not to overheat the vellum. The first image I embossed melted and curled the paper. After the embossed image is cool, use water based ink to color the image. Turn the image over and color the back side. Coloring both sides of the vellum is not necessary, but doing so makes the image pop with vibrant color. The final result is a very muted and beautiful image outlined in white. Try using images that can be cut out using a punch or die cut. The results are very striking. I used a Stampin' Up! flower image and a punch to make the flowers on the card pictured. I dry embossed card stock and mounted my flowers with pop ups. I added a few leaves and used Wink of Stella clear glitter over the leaves for shine. Try using an entire sheet of vellum, the size of your greeting card. Stamp your images and sentiment, emboss, color and attach to the front of your card. It's a very nice look. Enjoy trying this technique. And.....Y'all come back now!l gailWhat a winter we've had along with most of the country. Snow, Snow, Ice and more Snow! Very unusual where we live. Last year on March 2nd I was working in my yard doing spring clean-up. This year I was shoveling snow. What better time to think about Spring. It's day light savings and the evenings will shine with sunlight a bit longer each day. Spring flowers will be pushing up through the ground. Let's think spring and use flower images. This week's FREEBIE is a vase of flowers. Simple but very versatile. The flower vase can be used for Just about any holiday or occasion. Enjoy and grab it before midnight Sunday. You can download the FREE image all day Sunday by clicking on the FREEBIES tab to the left. Y'all come back now! gailI just love Spring! And, if you've been following my blog you know how much I dislike the wintery cold weather. This week I was very late posting my FREE SUNDAY DIGI --- just worn out from all the spring clean-up. Been planting new shrubs; six of our bushes died this winter. I quickly learned how to charge the riding mower battery with my husbands gadgets from the garage. Oh, and how I dislike cleaning the deck and furniture, it's labor intensive. isn't it. But spring, my favorite season -- when everything comes alive, including me! The fever hits me hard and being outside in the warm air is worth it all. I'll warn you now, you'll hear my tune change in August when the weather is the hottest. So what did I do with this digi stamp? I like the 3-D look on my cards. I also use layers -- lots of layers. I printed two tulip digi's and cut the front petals out of one print. Then popped them onto the tulip. I wanted the tulips in a pot, so I printed off a flower pot, cut it out and adhered it covering up the bow to get my pot of tulips. Added a few gardening tools and Ta da... my thank-you card to my friend who's a gardener! This weeks SUNDAY digi is a bouquet of tulips. You can grab it FREE under my FREEBIES tab. Enjoy and THINK SPRING! Y'all come back now! gailThe fall season at my house ended with the endless extermination of a hive of yellow jackets. We sprayed and sprayed using multiple cans of insecticide before the BUZZING stopped. Spring is around the corner, at least for us Eastern Tennesseans. Plugging that nest's hole in the ground is on my to-do-list for spring clean-up. Needless to say thinking about Bee's inspired me to draw a Bee hive. I created it just a bit prettier than the one in my garden. This digi is FREE this Sunday and can be found under the FREEBIES TAB. Enjoy! And...Y'all come back now. gail |
